Represent Your Community!
On Tuesday, October 14 2008 elections will be held for representation on the Northside Residents Redevelopment Council (NRRC) Board. To ensure equal representation on the board, the neighborhoods are divided into 13 districts (See Current Board List [pdf] and district map). This year, representatives will be elected from the ODD numbered districts. According to the NRRC bylaws, representatives must be available to attend monthly board meetings the third Monday of each month. Members are responsible for communicating the concerns, issues and business of the Council to residents living in their district. This is done, in part, by holding two (2) district meetings per year. The community organizer is here to assist with those meetings. Board members are also expected to participate on one of the following committees:
| Residential Commercial Task Force | Crime and Safety |
| Public Relations | Personnel |
| Finance |
If you are interested in representing your area, please download and fill out the Board Member Application and return it to NRRC by October 1, 2008. The completed applications will be available to voters prior to the election. If you would like to nominate a neighbor, please contact NRRC at 612-335-5924 and we will alert that person to their nomination and send them an application form.
Prior to the elections, NRRC staff will be available to make-up flyers for interested parties for the purpose of encouraging their neighbors to vote (You can also download the flyer here). Please feel free to call the NRRC staff with any questions.
Thank you!
