The North Minneapolis Child and Family Service Center is a unique partnership between Hennepin County, NorthPoint Health & Wellness, University of Minnesota, NorthPoint,Inc., the YMCA, and several nonprofit organizations. NorthPoint Clinic, located at Plymouth and Penn Avenues in North Minneapolis, will undergo a dramatic expansion starting in 2009 with an expected completion date in 2011. The North Minneapolis Child and Family Service Center will house NorthPoint Clinic, NorthPoint, Inc., a variety of Hennepin County Services, a University of Minnesota clinic, the YMCA, and other nonprofit partners. The center will provide a wide range of health and wellness services to residents of the North Minneapolis community. The center is expected to house an estimated 850 employees and will require an additional site for parking. This service center is an important project for North Minneapolis and represents an opportunity to create an effective, community-based model for intervention and service delivery in Hennepin County. The center also represents an $80 million investment in North Minneapolis and an opportunity for economic development and business growth.
